Derek Franz: Disinterest Action Machines

Exploring the novel possibilities of flesh controlled touch screens

Deryke Franz "Disinterest Action Machines"

Touch control systems surround us and haptic interfaces are the telepresent handshake of our electronic society.

My works explore the novel possibilities of flesh controlled touch screens. Desensitization machines show how a subtle gestures can be translated to overrload light sculptures and computers. This installation aims to mutate digitized intention, deconstructing the person-computer relationship.
