Celebrate the DANM community today!

Monday, September 24, 2012 - 7:00am

DANM will be hosting its fall mixer on Monday, September 24 (4-5:30). The gathering will take place in the Light Lab, DARC 306. Please join us for beer, chips, salsa and any treats you would like to contribute.

This will be our opportunity to welcome DANM's new chair, Noah Wardrip-Fruin. Noah has been active with DANM since arriving on campus several years ago and directs the Playable Media project group. He is associated with the Center for Games and Playable Media in Computer Science and holds both a PhD and an MFA from Brown University. Noah's research areas include new models of storytelling in games, how games express ideas through play, and how games can help broaden understanding of the power of computation.

This is the first opportunity of the year for the first and second year students to meet and mingle. It is one of the few opportunities for DANM faculty to meet our incoming cohort and greet our returning students. We'd also like to welcome our research associates. Come celebrate the DANM community!

PLUS, all are welcome to a reading of the rough-cut script for the "Peer Gynt" Performative Technologies/DANM/Theater Arts winter production from 5:30-8:00 in the Dark Lab, DARC 108.
