A new approach to the rock n' roll arts: participatory media + noisy channels

Musical acts include Psychic Astro ClubMayya & The Revolutionary Hell Yeah, and gal pal

The rock n' roll art movement of the mid-20th century was bred from innovations in technology (particularly the electronic guitar) and a cultural revolution amongst young people who embraced new ideas in art and society.

21st century rock n' roll art abandoned technological and cultural exploration in favor of nostalgic ideals blind to the future of art. In a new movement, "new rock n' roll" aims to integrate the emerging field of new media art into the tradition of the rock n' roll arts.

Join us in the 'light lab' for an experimental rock show that blurs the line between artist and audience. audience members with a SMS portable telephone can creatively collaborate with visual media by texting (831) 201-0661.

The locus of the event is the 'light lab', otherwise DARC 306, or more conventionally known, 407 McHenry Rd Santa Cruz, CA 95064.

The event is free of charge. The only thing you have to lose is your time.

No alcohol. No smoking. No children.
