seeds, a weeder or a spade, snippers, poppy pods can be engaged. each of these objects comes with an initial narrative scenario (retrieved through audio, or written text). through the use of the object more narrative fragments are obtained. for example, through the placing of seed/bullets into a planter filled with soil: a user may be told she/he is a soldier with ptsd driven to remember parts of their past; each time a bullet is 'planted' they retrieve pieces of audio. many of the objects operate on a metaphoric level: seeds are actually bullets, snips are actually wire cutters. or each time snips are engaged near flowers, images arise on the cinema display nearby. i envision three main 'stations' where narrative fragments are engaged: one for seeds, one for flowers, one for pods/ fruit. the seed station will have audio narrative, the flower station will have static visual elements and some audio. the media for the final poppy pod station is yet to be determined. 10'X10' to 15'X15" is the appropriate amount of space for this piece.
this is a messy piece. people will likely leave the tools in various places, soil will likely get on the floor & on peoples' hands, etc.
