Homework:

All: What would it look like to have the design page masked completely by a customized facilitation page, facilitation video, a jpg image created by the participant group and data about the site (Number of users, number of tags, etc that is pulled from the data base).

Home page:

1 Potential Solution #1:

• Video window in the middle of the screen.
• Film strip of video thumbnails for each group.
• In the navigation bar at the top of the home page have a explore bar pull down menu (which will open the about site in the home page… it won’t launch the public browser yet), a log in pull down menu and a language pull down menu.
• Both the video window and film strip have outer borders.

2 Potential Solution #2: (we like this one better).

• Video window in the middle of the screen.
• Instead of film strip there can be scattered thumbnails for each group.
• In order to see info of the group you click and a growing info box will appear on top of the video window.
• the info box will also be the about box.
• the video window/info box does not scroll down.

Note: Clearly separated navigation header in all pages (home page and palabras browser)

Palabras Browser Functionality:

• separate tracks of navigation (public browser and participant browser)

1 General

• Tag: underneath navigation header.
• About Tagging underneath Tag header.
• Login should take you directly to your user page or editor.

2 Public Browser options:

• Random tag selection
• Clear way of knowing what you have: a list called View Options (look by tag, by User Name etc). Where it says TAG now it could say VIEW BY.
• There should be TAG, SORT and SEARCH panel.
• Search field that replaces tag search
• If I am in Tags I can use the search tab to search in tags
• If I am in List I can use the search tab to search by date, clip, etc..
• Tags/List is on top of the Search Tab. It can be color coded.
• Pull down sort menu of List will be underneath Search Tab. For List you can also search.

Palabras Browser Design:

Facilitation Video Window:

• Window can be smaller.
• The about site is eliminated.
• There will be statistics: How many groups, how many participants, how many hours of footage and how many tags.
