Upload Instructions

Images that you upload should be uploaded to the webspace of your DANM account. The url to this directory will be http://danm.ucsc.edu/~(yourUserName)/images.

There are a number of ways to access the web space in your DANM account.

You can connect remotely:

Using Mac OS X:

1. In finder, cmd-K, or (Go->Connect To Server)
2. Server address is: afp://danm.ucsc.edu
3. User name is the same as the Wiki.
4. Password is the same password you use for this wiki.
5. Pick your user name as the share to mount.
6. When your account mounts, open the Sites folder.
7. We recommend creating a separate folder for images (or sounds, or movies, or whatever it is you're uploading)

Using Windows

1. Using the Windows Explorer, in the address bar type "\\danm.ucsc.edu" and hit enter

2. For the user name use "DANM\yourUserName"

   • (Example: "DANM\lyle")
   • (The "DANM" part is the Microsoft Domain Controller Name)
3. Enter your Password and hit enter
4. You should see a list of shares, pick your user name.
5. When your account mounts, open the Sites folder.
6. We recommend creating a separate folder for images (or sounds, or movies, or whatever it is you're uploading)

Using SFTP

1. Get a client!

   • great (free!) mac client: http://cyberduck.ch/
   • great windows client (free AND open source! Yay Windows!): http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
2. connect to the server: danm.ucsc.edu
3. open your Sites folder, drag files in and they'll be web-accesible.
