Well, is it "C" or is it "S"?

Way back at the turn of the century I started studying electronic music and how to make and record music using a computer. My partners began spelling my name with an "S" and it has stuck.

Being at UCSC changed that somewhat since it's all kind of serious and legal and with that comes the spelling I was born with ("C"). So there you have it.

Studying digital media culture and theory has brought a renewed appreciation of the original spelling: "Cy(borg)nth(degree)ia(m) Pay(i)ne (that which cyborgs do not experience).

Now asked what I prefer I have to say that the "S" is a signifier of enormous growth and future in my life, and I have considered a legal change. However, there is more to me than wires and electrical current, yes there is! I'm also a singer, writer, videographer, and sometimes I can even act.

And for those equally impassioned endeavors I like having another name. It is really the rock star in me that wants a single name with a profound meaning, like Sting or Sade, or Slayerrrr!, okay not Slayerrrr!

Now, what was that about coolness?
