1. weekly presentations to take place during weeks 2-6; you will select and discuss a specific passage in one of the readings for that week (besides Wilson) and put it in dialogue (or use it to pose a question about) an artwork, artist, cultural/social/political movement or event. Your presentation should be no more than 15 minutes; and it should initiate discussion for after those 15 minutes.
2. 6-8 page paper due in week 4 about a particular cultural (including artistic), social, political categorization/network with which your work is in dialoguequestion.
4. 15-20 page final paper that is a polished draft of the written portion of your thesis (as you conceive of it at that point, anyway) that explains your work and situates it within the material from your first paper. It can, and should, draw upon material from your first paper and be related to the material in your mini-course curriculum (i.e., your readings for your course should also be sources for and discussed in your paper). The goal is to be able to explain your own work (conceptually and technically) and situate it within a larger context of dialoguesquestions.
