barcode scanning:
I stumbled onto this blog entry (from 2007) about how Microsoft was experimenting w/ barcode scanning for their smartphone... and their solution to the fixed focus lens issue at that time was a little aftermarket macro-lens that suction-cups onto the phone... eliminates fuzzy. Not a solution for us in the long-run, but would get us over that (technical) hurdle for now, right? -kyle

soul of the new machine conference at UCB, 5/4-5/5. We're attending in some capacity. Registration= $75 for students/ UC affiliated warm bodies... We should plan ride sharing as well as housing as soon as we find out if we're accepted into the poster session. -kyle
