proposed Pre-Orientaton Preparation Guide

Welcome to the 200_ session of DANM Technical Orientation.

The DANM Tech Orientation is designed first of all that every DANM student is familiar with software such as Flash, Photoshop, Final Cut, Maya, MaxMSP... as well as programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and others... But what is further, the Tech Orientation exists to expand students' knowledge and abilities with these programs, so that we as a class will be able to do more with them.

Because the Orientation is only 2 weeks, these programs and programming languages will be covered rather rapidly. (insert calendar of Orientation week 2008) The class is designed to start at a basic level of introduction, but will quickly accelerate so as to demonstrate more advanced applications of these software programs during the session.

While we will introduce and demonstrate each of these programs during class, much of the actual learning and tutoring and experimentation vital to learning new software, will need to happen on your own time. This guide has been provided so that you can initiate this self-learning ahead of time, if you should so wish, so as to make the most of your 2 weeks at Tech Orientation in fall.

Good luck and enjoy!
