TITLE: e_Motion Capture

Description of Concept

My goal is to design and construct e_Motion, an environment where participants, through movement, cooperate in co-creation of an abstract, visual representation of the physical world.

In this project, a pair or participants interact within a motion capture space. Using PhaseSpace motion capture system the participants’ movement is rendered in real time to produce an electronic painting. Participants and observers watch as the electronic paintings are created on a large projection screen. These cooperative paintings are printed out, thus becoming a tangible reminder of the participants’ experience. Also, a digital copy of the artwork is saved onto a cumulative database of e_Motion paintings.
