hi. this is my first attempt to get motivated. i need to finish this site and move it to my domain: myvelodrome.org. i’m on a cleanse and i’m feeling crazeeeeeeeee. i had to have coffee today, and I don’t normally drink coffee. i will break my cleanse tomorrow b/c it is my friend dolores’ cumpleaños. so we’re going to tartine in the morning. no quinoa flavored with fruit juice there. i’m easing into cleansing by starting with a solid foods detox diet. okay back to work. oh wait, did you guys hear about the
octosquid?
Oh one of the projects I am working on is a Film by Lynn Hershman. It’s a documentary about women art and feminism.

Speaking about feminism and art have you seen the WACK! show at the MOCA in LA? Check it out, it’s has some amazing artist in the show. Give yourself some time to see it. There is a lot of art and it can be overwhelming.

For the past 5 weeks I was working on the ZeroOne/ISEA2006 festival in San Jose. I was producing the symposium but did many non-symposium related work. It was a crazy, intense, hair-pulling, challenging and ultimately rewarding experience. I met many amazing, talented, smart and competent people. But I am glad that project is over. I am looking forward to regular sleep and eating.

I am now at UC Irvine at a two week conference about Technology, Social Science and Art practices. I arrived late because of ISEA and am slowly getting into the swing of things. I will have more to say about SECT as the week progresses.

see what i mean. maybe it’s because i’m in from of my computer so much these days, and i’m always looking at the clock.

man it did it again. i’m totally going to have this pavlovian response to the backspace now.

ya know audacity shouldn’t crash just because you hit the backspace while making a label. that is just fucking stupid. yes i should have been saving all along but sometimes i forget. i’m no damn machine.

over the last couple of weeks i’ve been catching 11:11 when i look at the time. both at night and in the morning. i am taking that as a good omen, since i can make wishes on the double integers. perhaps this is an exciting time in my life and there are a lot of possibilites after thesis. ain’t nothing to it but to do it. i’m going to meet up with meredith today and we shall walk up bernal and get ice cream at maggie mudds. guess i’m off my diet today. i like my big ass. i like my big ass.

on another note, i think i’m finally getting into a groove with Audacity. it’s not crashing on me so much.

so this is what it takes to get me to blog. the torturous process of thesis making. (i’m pretty sure at this point no one is reading this thing. good.) i have so much work to do and time is passing incomprehensibly fast. i stay home all day, won’t let myself go out and i get so little done. this is a blog to God, please help me get this behemoth of a project done. on happier note, it’s carnival time here in the mission district and horns permeate the air. unfortunately it is a little distracting. i am looking forward to string bikinis and worrying about too much sun exposure in july. job-smob. i wonder how many blog entries are titled “procrastinating.”
