A very special evening of stories about migration, home, and hospitality. With special guests from the New York State Youth Leadership Council.

Wednesday, January 30th 2013 / 4-7pm
Flushing International High School
144-80 Barclay Avenue, Flushing, NY 11355

“My Future Is Here” features the stories of 7 young immigrants living in New York City. Their stories are presented to you through an experiential video installation. As our guest, you will be granted a visa and the possibility to obtain global citizenship. We invite you to traverse a path of rooms where you will hear personal stories of migration, and contribute to our vision of a future world where every human is recognized and included.

This installation is part of ImagiNations, an ongoing multimedia and public art initiative that brings to light the most pressing issues immigrant youth face when making a new life in the global city. This initiative utilizes pedagogy, new media installation design, and socially engaged art practices to develop a cosmopolitical framework for cross-cultural exchange and civic participation.

ImagiNations is a sponsored project of Artspire, a Program of the New York Foundation for the Arts.
