Description: Co-related Space is a digitally-enhanced environment that immerses participants in embodied space, highlighting the spatiality of participants, their behavior and their relationships with others within that space. Using motion tracking, laser light projection and a generative soundscape, it encourages interactions between participants, visually and sonically transforming a regularly trafficked space. Co-related Space highlights participants’ active engagement and experimentation with sound and light, including complex direct and indirect behavior and relationships. Co-related Space is a collaboration between artists Lanier Sammons, Brent Townshend, and Wes Modes. GLOW: A Festival of Fire Saturday October 18th 2014, 7-10PM Cooper Street and Abbott Square will be glowing with fire dancing, flaming fire art sculptures, radiating music and dancing in the streets. Local fire artists will show their latest burning man creations of fire art that will ignite into musical flames, burning branches and fire cannonades.

Description: The second L.A.S.T. festival - San Francisco, California October 23-25, 2014 Creativity does not happen in a vacuum, whether it's art, tech or science. They all coexist, influence each other and interact. Silicon Valley did not happen in a vacuum, it happened within the intense cultural ecosystem of the Bay Area. The L.A.S.T. festival aims at presenting art, tech and science within the same venue. The art expo will feature a dozen interactive high-tech installations that break the "Do not touch!" taboo of the traditional museum and that are meant to let you experience something you never experienced before. The symposium will feature talks on Artificial Intelligence, Graphics/Animation, Nanotech, etc by leaders of today's science and technology.
A Secret History of American River People shantyboat at FIGMENT Oakland

Description: An Anthro-Historical Research Journey Through the History of a River Secret History is a journey to discover, present, and connect the lost narratives of people who live and work on the river from the deck of a recreated shantyboat. The Secret History shantyboat is a rustic houseboat, a traditional wooden-hulled barge-bottom flatboat lovingly recreated by the artist and friends over a period of two years out of largely reclaimed materials. The shantyboat serves as both the vehicle for Secret History field work and the project library and archive. FIGMENT is an explosion of creative energy. FIGMENT Oakland is a free, outdoor interactive art event that brings together the community and inspires all ages in the creation and celebration of art and a culture where everything is possible. Our focus is to bring out kids and adults alike to come out and play and experience art on a participatory level. FIGMENT is a free, annual participatory arts event that brings together the community and inspires all ages in the creation and celebration of art and a culture where everything is possible.
