SCRAP

A DIY bring-your-own game-making event!

Welcome!

The Santa Cruz Retreat for Analog Play is a low-fi, DIY, BYO one-day game-making event on the beautiful UC Santa Cruz campus! We'll be building games around an interesting and evocative theme. Come join us! No prior game-making experience necessary! Organized by DANM alums, Stacey Mason (DANM '14) Heather Logas (DANM '12) and Squinky Kiai (DANM '15).

Who can Join?

Anyone! Beginners, experts, kids (who are natural game designers!), serious artists, researchers—all are welcome at SCRAP! We encourage people of all backgrounds to come make games with us. Whether this is your first game or your 1000th, we're excited to play your game. Everybody likes to play! Games need your voice and we'd love to have you!

What to Bring?

Anything you need for a day of making games! BYO game-making supplies (any boards, dice, cards, balls, ropes, tires, markers, glitter, etc. you may need). Campus food will be closed, so be sure to bring snacks for yourself and/or the snack table and a brown-bag lunch. And don't forget friendly collaborators! We're sorry to say UCSC only allows service dogs on campus.

Where?
