FLOW: A walk with Wes Modes (DANM '15)

Saturday, February 20, 2016 - 10:00pm

Please join DANM alum, Wes Modes on Saturday, February 20th, 2pm at Walnut Ave. & Cedar St. for the first Interval. Interval is a new space in Santa Cruz for critical engagement and play organized by an interdepartmental collective. An Interval is a walk, a game, a group or individual led function, each structured around our art practices and scholarship. We aim to create decentralized environments for communal and creative discussion.

This first gathering interrogates the space of FLOW. Walk linking landscapes and narratives with artist Wes Modes. From the deck of a recreated shantyboat, Modes’ “Secret History of American River People” discovers and collects the lost narratives of people who live and work on the Mississippi. Walk with Wes as we consider the theme of flow as space, flow as place, and space as flow.
