DANM student Livia Perez (DANM 23) was awarded a Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) Forum prize, which sponsored her travel to Montreal in November 2022 to participate in the RIDM Forum, a "intensive program of professional workshops, lectures and roundtables that focus on training, discussion and sharing of knowledge" in the documentary film world. The award was in support of Finding Norma, Perez' DANM thesis project. The award announcement noted that the project was "building bridges between the south and the north, between the past and the present, and above all between two women who seek the affirmation of their artistic expressions".
