On Friday, April 14 from 7:30-9:00pm, presentations by the seven 2017 graduates of the UC Santa Cruz Digital Arts and New Media (DANM) MFA Program will take place in the MAH Atrium. The seven artists are creating and iterating within realms not easily decipherable and detected in the conventional art world. Each artist has worked in the critical spaces of game design, musical soundscapes, performative sculpture, or interactive media to resist and expand long-established, canonical meanings of art.
The following week, the artists will be showing their work in the exhibition, ultraSHIFT, to be held from April 27-April 30 in the DARC building on campus. The graduating students will speak on campus at the Digital Arts Research Center (DARC), Room 230, April 29 from 5-9pm.
